About the album
From a new Melbourne scene including bands like Floodlights, Gamjee and Dragoons, Clamm's powerful music touches on anti-violence, materialism, mental health and the state of modern Australia.
Best friends Jack Summers (vocals, guitar) and Miles Harding (drums) also play together in Gamjee and Dragoons. Bassist Luke Scott plays on the album but has since moved overseas, replaced by Maisie Everett (Belair Lip Bombs).
The cassette’s ten tracks are filled with powerful riffs, emotionally charged lyrics and forceful vocals. “The writing, recording and performance of Beseech Me have been a cathartic experience for me and for the band,” says Jack. “The tracks are about struggling as a young person, but really just about struggling with anything. They’re a bit about being angry at your surroundings and loudly questioning the things that are going on around you.”
Clamm’s first single Dog was released in April 2019 topped the Australian community radio airplay chart and got glowing writeups from around the world. Second single Liar was playlisted internationally on Apple Music. Latest single Keystone Pols got a premiere on Raven Sings the Blues and more international Apple Music playlisting.
Beseech Me was recorded by Nao Anzai (NO ZU, Cash Savage, Teskey Brothers) and mixed and mastered by Mikey Young.
