NO ZU
Irrepressible Heat Beat collective NO ZU have existed in various forms since 2007. They released debut album Life in 2012, followed by 12”s for Cutters and Home Loan Records, and contributed standout track Raw Vis Vision to Cut Copy’s 2014 Melbourne dance compilation Oceans Apart.
Chapter came on board for the mutant punque-funque of second album Afterlife (2016) and remix EP BODY2BODY2BODY (2017). Afterlife took NO ZU to Spain’s Primavera festival and a huge concert broadcast live on French Television for Transmusicales Festival. BODY2BODY2BODY saw Afterlife tracks reworked by the band's own 80s idols A Certain Ratio and Jonny Sender of Konk.
NO ZU have played festivals like WOMAD, Golden Plains, Sugar Mountain, At First Sight and Camp Doogs, and supported likeminded icons such as ESG and James Chance.
