Sydney trio Holy Balm are one of Australia’s best-loved proponents of idiosyncratic dance music. Influenced by early house and post-punk, they take a D.I.Y. approach, playing their keyboards and drum machines in real time and following the feel rather than obsessing over technical perfection.

They have played the Sydney Opera House, Vivid, Paradise Music Festival and the Sydney Biennale, and have shared stages with Ariel Pink, Boredoms, Nite Jewel and more. They toured the US in 2013, playing shows with labelmates Maria Minerva and Xander Harris.

Debut album It's You was released in 2012 by US label Not Not Fun and Sydney’s R.I.P. Society, and won hearts around the world, getting written up in Dazed Digital, Gorilla Vs Bear and elsewhere. Second album Activity appeared on Chapter Music in 2016, earning raves from the likes of Thump, KEXP, All Music, Brooklyn Vegan, I-D and Rolling Stone.

In 2017 Holy Balm released Activity Mixes, a 12” featuring remixes of tracks from Activity by Andras, Zanzibar Chanel and Moon B.

“Danceable, charmingly off kilter and refreshingly not tied to any era” - Brooklyn Vegan
“Evocative of something smooth and blissful, while coercing out of you that restless desire to dance” - Thump
“Elegantly wasted vocals lull us into a tranced-out daze” - Gorilla Vs Bear
“As serious about their party-ready No Wave jams as their DIY ethic.” Dazed Digital
